Frequently Asked Questions

The health and safety of my clients, myself, and my family are a top priority. 

• Day of appointment check in, via text.
• Health intake forms are filled out within 24 hours of appointment.
• Both you and I will wear face masks throughout the massage session.
• A minimum of 30 minutes between clients to allow for fresh air circulation.
• Stringent disinfecting protocols for all touch surfaces.

• Aim to arrive a bit early, 15-20 minutes, to allow us to begin on time.

• If you find that you will not make it by our appointment time, call or text to give me a heads up.

• Don’t stress. Better to show up late and calm rather than frazzled and rushed. We’ll make the best of the time we have.

• Regular price applies.

• Ideally, you will give me 24-48 hours notice whenever possible.
• Failure to cancel at least 4 hours before the start of the appointment time will result in a charge for 50% of the scheduled appointment price. This must be paid before your next session can be scheduled.

• Yes, please do not come in if you are sick.
• In consideration for myself, as well as for guests who come in after you, I urge you to reschedule your massage if you are feeling sick or think you might have caught something.

• Please shower before your session.
• Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment start time to ensure that we can begin on time.
• It is best not to eat anything heavy about an hour before your massage.
• Know that you'r feedback helps guide the massage and ensure that we are able to give you exactly what you need.

• I’ll show you the massage room and walk you through the process. We’ll decide what to prioritize and how you should lay on the table (face up or face down) before the massage.
• I'll ask all sorts of questions to get a better idea of how best to customize your session.
• I'll also check In with you throughout the massage to make sure you are getting exactly what you need.

• Just one session can bring the relief that you have been longing for. It is important to remember that the knots and tension patterns have developed over time with daily activity and stress. These areas will need time to be worked out over multiple sessions. Also important is consideration of self-care in between our sessions, to increase the long-term relief. Clients often experience long-term and dramatic increases in relaxation, comfort, range of motion, and body awareness through regular treatment.
• With our first session, we will begin to learn what works for you.
• There are many things to consider on an individual basis. Each body is different, and each of us responds differently to various techniques. We will work together to learn what techniques are best suited for you. Together, with clear communication, we will work to achieve your personal set of goals, address any concerns that arise, and build a kind of partnership in healing.

• The short answer is no. I am able to provide quality customized massage to everyone no matter how much you leave on.
• The majority of clients undress completely, while others choose to leave on their underwear.

• I have a genetic eye condition called Stargardt’s, a form of macular degeneration.
• With a loss of central vision, I sometimes have trouble finding an address. Otherwise, I don’t require any special assistance.
• Because I rely on my peripheral vision, I often do not make eye contact when speaking to people.

• The short answer: To give your body the hydration it needs to continue releasing and letting go. Dehydrated muscles are sticky and stiff. Drinking plenty of water gives them the hydration they need on a cellular level so that the body's natural processes can run smoothly.

• Your session is completely confidential. Anything discussed during our session, as well as any work done, is kept confidential.
• Sometimes I talk with fellow therapists about things I come across in my work. Names are kept anonymous.

As my goal is to make massage more accessible I have intentionally set my rates at below market value. There are many ways to show gratitude! The most appreciated form is referral. When you tell your friends about me, write a review about me on Google and Yelp, or purchase gift certificates for friends and family, it helps my business grow and allows me to spread the love. Although cash tips are always appreciated when received, they are never expected. I am self-employed, and I believe the rates I have set are fair.
